The Itkul Distillery is Siberia’s oldest distillery, founded in 1868 at the River Itkul, Altai Region. Konstantin Platonov, a wealthy Russian scientist from St. Petersburg, founded the distillery together with Gregoriy Badyn, a merchant of the second guild. Today, the Itkul Distillery is the only distillery in the whole of Russia to produce alcohol from pure malt.

The traditions of the founders are preserved and continuously improved with the use of advanced technologies. Local natural ingredients and control at each production stage are the key values of the exceptional quality of Mamont Vodka. Inspired by the Yukagir Mammoth. Unique tusk shaped bottle. White winter wheat. Altai Mountain spring water. Silver Birch charcoal filtered. Six times distilled for a smooth flavour. A hint of sweetness with a dry finish. One of the finest Siberian Vodkas.

In Russia, vodka is drunk neat and chilled, but not frozen, over a long meal. Usually, complementary salty or sour appetizers, such as famous pickled vegetables or fruit are served. Traditionally, vodka is drunk from glasses that can hold 100 grams / 10cl and in Russia known as "Stopka" or "Stogram".

The glass is emptied in one draught, while holding one's breath and something small is savoured straight away. Before drinking, a toast is given.
