A spectacular Gin that has an awards list a mile long. A cold compound Gin (the only one of its kind, currently) that has a wonderful, complex character. On the nose: juniper with herb garden aromas, rounded off with notes of orange and cinnamon. On the palate: earthy juniper floats across a creamy spirit base, more mixed herbs and the ever present notes of spice and orange. A beautiful all round package and a must try for any gin lover.
Ableforth's marvellous Bathtub Gin combines exotic botanicals such as juniper, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and the very finest orange peel to deliver an unparallelled drinking experience. Crafted using a traditional, time-honoured 'cold-compounding' technique, the best copper-pot still spirit has been applied, cold, to the aforementioned botanicals with a view to delivering not only a purer, crisper drinking experience, but also a richer, more rounded mouthfeel.
Its origins oft misunderstood. Bathtub Gin takes its name from days of yore when cheaper, compounded gins would purportedly be topped off with water from a bathtub tap (as the bottles were too tall to fit into a sink). Ironically, in our modern times, the production methods used in the creation of this superb gin are amongst the most expensive in the world. Naturally coloured by the botanicals, this technique lends a most curious tint to the liquid.
